Guernsey’s got Genius competition details
Island school children have been incredibly busy during the first 3 months of this year in their quest to win the ‘Guernsey’s got Genius’ competition run by the Intellectual Property Office in partnership with A O Hall and Stanleys.
Children in school year 7 to 13 were asked to produce a drawing, a design or to come up with an idea for an invention on the theme of ‘Guernsey’s got Genius’ to promote an awareness of intellectual property.
Of the entries received, five have been short-listed and they are now entitled to up to one hour free legal advice from AO Hall Advocates and up to one hour of free patent advice from Stanleys limited.
On Monday 19 April 2010 members of the public will be able to vote on-line for their favourite drawing, design or invention. On-line voting is only available for 5 days to enable the winner to be announced on World Intellectual Property Day on Monday 26 April 2010.
Images of the short-listed entries and details of the on-line voting procedure can be found at www.guernseyregistry.com/ipo from Monday.
