Healthspan announce new hotel acquisition
Healthspan has announced that they are buying Le Chalet Hotel over looking the Bay in Fermain Valley as part of their longer term strategy for developing tourism in Guernsey.
Derek Coates, Chief Executive, said: 'this fits well in our portfolio of hotels, joining the four star Fermain Valley Hotel and two star Sunnycroft Hotel in St Peter Port; and in our sister island of Alderney the Braye Beach Hotel and Divers Inn.
We are rapidly approaching the time when we can begin to implement a new tourism initiative to benefit Guernsey. This involves working closely with Alderney, Sark and Herm to provide a unique tourism offering that will benefit all of our islands.
On completion of the purchase, the hotel will continue to operate as normal in the coming summer season. Refurbishment and repositioning of the brand will take place in early 2011 during which time the hotel will close for about one month.
