2e2 data centre
A brand new facility offering businesses in the island a state-of-the-art disaster recovery centre has opened at Les Caches in St Martins. The 2e2 Business Recovery and Data Centre was opened by the Minister of Commerce & Employment, Deputy Carla McNulty Bauer.

The last 12 months has taught us that situations can change very quickly in business.” says Jon Crichard, the Managing Director of 2e2 Channel Islands. Despite what is happening around the world in the financial markets we are confident about the future of business here in Guernsey but firms need contingencies. All companies need to store their data in a safe, secure and practical environment which they can access 24 hours a day, seven days a week no matter what may have occurred. That’s why we have made such a major investment in our new data centre at Les Caches.

We have been working to ensure that our offering fits perfectly with the requirements of the market in Guernsey.
Martin Thwaite is 2e2’s Senior Business Development Manager: Les Caches is 300 feet above sea-level and halfway between the airport and St Peter Port. We have 12,100 sq ft of space over two levels. On the first floor are 7200 sq ft of business continuity suites while the ground floor has a fantastically equipped 3000 sq ft data centre. It really has been a sizable investment for 2e2 because we wanted the centre to be viewed as a long-term solution to a company’s problems rather than a temporary fix. The overall finish and standard of fitting is high and a very pleasant working environment which is an extremely important consideration for staff satisfaction. We have substantial space in three off-shore locations: Jersey Guernsey and the Isle of Man. All our business continuity recovery facilities incorporate secure data centres and data replication services. Our infrastructure is such that we offer cross-jurisdictional continuity which is so important for businesses of today.
